Physical Education

The Alice E. Grady School's physical education program is designed to engage students in a variety of activities that promote physical fitness, motor skill development, and a healthy lifestyle. Students in grades 2 through 6 attend class twice a week. Each class is 52 minutes, where they participate in a range of age-appropriate exercises and games that improve coordination, strength, and teamwork. The program emphasizes both cognitive learning and physical activity, helping students develop the knowledge and behaviors needed for lifelong fitness. To ensure safety, students are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and sneakers, and safety is always a top priority during all activities.

A special highlight of the program is Fitness Friday, a school-wide event. Each Fitness Friday features a different fitness theme, encouraging students, teachers, and staff to come together and participate in fun, themed activities that promote physical well-being. On these days, students are asked to wear the school's colors to show school spirit and unity. Through these events and regular class activities, the physical education program helps students build healthy habits, develop physical literacy, and foster a love for movement in a supportive and energetic environment.
