Our K-1 STEAM program fosters curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking by integrating

Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics into hands-on learning

experiences. Students collaborate on real-world challenges, using tools like coding kits,

art supplies, and engineering models to explore concepts and develop solutions.

Emphasizing curiosity-driven exploration, the program builds foundational skills while

nurturing a growth mindset. Lessons encourage students to think like scientists, artists,

and engineers alike.

The elementary STEAM program inspires students in grades 2-6 to learn,

explore, and experience new ideas in science, technology,

engineering, art, and math. Activities emphasize the 4 C’s of the engineering

design process: collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking.

Using age-appropriate tools and technology, students explore concepts such as

coding, design thinking, and experimentation in a supportive environment that

values curiosity, iteration, and creativity. The program equips students with

essential 21st-century skills while nurturing their natural enthusiasm for learning.

Learners are encouraged to engage in wonder and problem-solving rather than

rote thinking, resulting in a robust, enriching environment where every class

brings discoveries and new topics to investigate.

Curriculum materials and topics include but are not limited to:

● Dash and Dot robots, utilizing Blockly coding with virtual and real Dash

robots, Ozobots utilizing color coding and block coding, Bitsbox

introduction to simplified Javascript coding, Beebots

● Engineering is Elementary (EIE) curriculum units

● Makerspace design

● Engineering challenges

● Science concepts, games, investigations

● Math concepts, games
